When I took this one apart, it was very unlike the other two, full of this very fragile red material, and it had these rigid, bent rod-like structures. A not-so-tiny part of my brain started to worry that the red stuff was chitin and that the creator of this pellet had just snacked on a giant cockroach. Because I’m not entirely sure how I’d feel about touching bits of roach that had previously been eaten, digested, and puked up by an owl. After soaking all the bits in hydrogen peroxide I was DELIGHTED to discover that the barfer had in fact been scarfing down leaves, which is a thing that silly babies do as they learn to use their beaks. The baby also ate a shrew, but as far as I know, no roaches!
