Here’s what happened yesterday. All the branches except one sad little fighter are gone from the nest tree. And the beautiful box is very sturdily attached to the tree next door, visible from the nest and hopefully inviting. The tree gentlemen will come back next week to install a cross-branch outside the box door for adult owls to use during the peek-into-hole phases and for baby owls to use during the oh-shit-I’m-leaving-the-nest phases.
